【摘要】:Thesepracticesforthesamplingofmetalsandalloysareprimarilyintendedtotestsuchmaterialsforcompliancewithcompositionalspecifications.Itisassumedthatallwhousethesemethodswillbetrainedsamplerscapableofperformingcommonsamplingproceduresskillfullyandsafely.1.1Thesepracticesincludeproceduresforthesamplingofthevariousferroalloysandsteeladditives,eitherbeforeoraftershipmentfromtheplantsofthemanufacturers.Theyaredesignedtogiveresultsrepresentativeofeachlotthatwillbecomparablewiththemanufacturer''sguaranteedanalysisforthesamelot.Forcheckanalysis,thepurchasermayuseanysamplingprocedurehedesires,buttheanalyticalresultsobtainedonsuchsamplesshallnotbeabasisforcomplaintorrejection,unlesstheprocedurefollowedisofanaccuracyequivalenttothatprescribedinthesemethods.1.2Insamplingferroalloysandsteeladditives,seriouserrorsoftenoccurfromcontaminationofthesamplesbyironfromthesamplingappliances.Therefore,specialprecautionsshouldbeobservedtoavoidthissourceoferror.Metallicironmayberemovedwithamagnetfromnonmagneticalloys;itsestimationinotheralloysrequiresspecialanalyticalprocedures(Note0).Toavoidthiserror,partsofcrushersandpulverizingequipmentcontactingthesamplesshallbeofsteelorothermaterialshowingahighresistancetoabrasionofthetypeinvolved.Note0Metallicironinferrochromiumandferrosiliconmaybedeterminedasfollows:Transfer5gofthesampleofalloytoa150-mLbeaker,add25mLofHNO3(1+3),cover,boil5min,filterintoa250-mLbeaker,andwashwithhotwater.AddNH4OHinslightexcess,heattoboiling,filter,andwashwithhotwater.DissolvetheprecipitateonthepaperwithaminimumquantityofhotHCl(1+2),washthefilterwithhotwater,andtitratetheironbyastandardproceduresuchasthatdescribedinTestMethodE354.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundvaluesinparenthesisaregivenforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
