【摘要】:Corrosiontestresultsoftenshowmorescatterthanmanyothertypesoftestsbecauseofavarietyoffactors,includingthefactthatminorimpuritiesoftenplayadecisiveroleincontrollingcorrosionrates.Statisticalanalysiscanbeveryhelpfulinallowinginvestigatorstointerpretsuchresults,especiallyindeterminingwhentestresultsdifferfromoneanothersignificantly.Thiscanbeadifficulttaskwhenavarietyofmaterialsareundertest,butstatisticalmethodsprovidearationalapproachtothisproblem.Moderndatareductionprogramsincombinationwithcomputershaveallowedsophisticatedstatisticalanalysesondatasetswithrelativeease.Thiscapabilitypermitsinvestigatorstodetermineifassociationsexistbetweenmanyvariablesand,ifso,todevelopquantitativeexpressionsrelatingthevariables.Statisticalevaluationisanecessarystepintheanalysisofresultsfromanyprocedurewhichprovidesquantitativeinformation.Thisanalysisallowsconfidenceintervalstobeestimatedfromthemeasuredresults.1.1Thisguidepresentsbrieflysomegenerallyacceptedmethodsofstatisticalanalyseswhichareusefulintheinterpretationofcorrosiontestresults.1.2Thisguidedoesnotcoverdetailedcalculationsandmethods,butrathercoversarangeofapproacheswhichhavefoundapplicationincorrosiontesting.1.3Onlythosestatisticalmethodsthathavefoundwideacceptanceincorrosiontestinghavebeenconsideredinthisguide.
