【摘要】:Thistestmethodmeasuresthetendencyforoilcomponentstoseparatespontaneouslyfromasphalt.Theseparationofoilcomponentscancausestaininginasphaltroofingproductsandadjacentmaterialsinstorageanduse.Thestainindexisrelatedtothethermalstabilityoftheasphalt.Higherstainindexvaluesindicatelowerstabilityandgreatertendencyforstaining.Usethisproceduretodeterminethestainingtendencyofasphaltandtocomparetheresultsagainstamaterialforwhichthestainingtendencyisknown.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthestainingtendencyofasphaltandtheassignmentofastainindexproportionaltotheextentofstainingobserved.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletoasphaltshavingring-and-ballsofteningpointsof85176;C(185176;F)orgreater.Note18212;Thistestmethodmaybemodifiedforusewithotherbituminousmaterialswithsofteningpointslessthan85176;C(185176;F)byusingadifferenttemperaturethanspecifiedinSection7byagreementoftheinterestedparties.ThereportofresultsfromsuchatestmaycitethismethodbutmustclearlystatethetemperatureemployedintheexceptionandacknowledgethattheinterpretationofresultsinSection9andtheprecisionandbiasstatedinSection10maynotapply.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
