【摘要】:ThispracticeisusefulforproducinguniformspecimensofrefractoryplasticsandrammingmixesforuseinstandardASTMtests.Samplesthusformedmaybeusedforrefereetestingwhensettingspecificationsbetweenproduceranduser.Formingparameterssuchassamplesize,workability,andformingpressureshouldbeagreeduponandspecifiedinthereportwhenrefereetesting.Thispracticeisapplicableforpreparingtestspecimensofvarioussizes.Notethat9by4x00BD;by2x00BD;in.(228by114by64-mm)samples,becauseoftheirlargecross-section,haveagreatertendencytoformflawsduringpressing,handling,anddryingthansmallercross-sectionalsamples.Othertestsforwhichthesespecimensmaybeusedencompass,butarenotlimitedto,thefollowingASTMstandards:MethodC16,TestMethodsC20,TestMethodC113,TestMethodsC133,TestMethodC179,TestMethodC288,TestMethodC417,TestMethodC577,TestMethodC583,TestMethodC704,TestMethodsC830,TestMethodC832,PracticeC874,TestMethodC885,andTestMethodC914.Apurposeofthispracticeistominimizeflawsinpressedspecimens.Itisnotintendedtoduplicateallfieldinstallationconditions.VariationsinworkabilityasdeterminedbyTestMethodC181cansignificantlyaffectthenumberofflawscontainedinaspecimen.Forcomparisontestingbetweentwolaboratories,theworkabilitylevelshouldbeestablishedbymutualagreement.Thispracticeisnotintendedforpreparingspecimensofbasicrammingmixes,anhydroustap-holemixes,norresinbondedmixes.1.1Thispracticecoversthepressinganddryingofchemicallyandnonchemicallybondedaluminum-silicateandhighaluminaplasticandrammingmixrefractoryspecimensclassifiedinaccordancewithClassificationC673.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
